So, instead of our usual Monday “if you like”, I thought it might be appropriate to list our favorite pink (and Pink) items. Here are some of mine:

– pink icing sugar on petit fours;

– the Pink comics drawn by Joanne Renaud;

– pink in your cheeks on a crisp winter’s day;

– pink cupcakes on Valentine’s Day;

– BCRF’s pink ribbon– and the amazing researchers, scientists, and fundraisers who make that mean what it does.

I only wish I had more ARCs to give away, now that I have so many creative ways to do it. We will quite definitely be having a second contest in which there will be poetry involved. (Given Augustus, how could there not be?)

In the meantime, however, Catie wisely pointed out that Breast Cancer Awareness Month is coming up. The Pink books have a very special connection to that, both because of the Pink for Pink Shop and because Pink I is being re-issued later this month as part of a special program that benefits the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

So, with all of that floating around, here’s your Garden Intrigue challenge:

– Design a Garden Intrigue item for the Pink for Pink Shop.

It can be anything you like: a t-shirt, a mug, a tote bag. You can design it directly on Cafe Press or on any other platform of your choice. Just send me a picture and I’ll round them all up and post them here on the website so people can vote.

Entries are due in next Wednesday, September 21. I’ll post them and open it up to voting on Thursday, September 22, and the winners will be announced on September 27, the day the re-issue of Pink Carnation comes out.

The top three designers and one randomly chosen judge will all receive ARCs of The Garden Intrigue.
