Weekly Reading Round-Up

It’s been a multi-book work week for me: bouncing into book clubs to talk about The English Wife, copyedits for the next Three Ws book (title and cover reveal coming soon!), and, of course, working on the Barbados Book.

What with all that, there wasn’t nearly as much time to read as I would have liked– especially since I finally started reading Sarah Addison Allen’s Garden Spells and all I want to do is curl up with it with a cup of tea and read and read and read.

What have you been reading this week?

I’m reading Janet Beard’s The Atomic City Girls, about the people who worked for the war effort in a manufactured town in Tennessee. I like the details of how the town was created.

I’m reading something called The English Wife. It’s okay 😉 Truth be told, I’m glad my husband is working nights this week because I get to curl up with it before bed. I can barely bring myself to put it down, but I do need my sleep.

I’m re-reading Memoirs of a Geisha, which I last read as a teenager when I was going through my Japanese-Chinese set book phase. Loved it then, merely like it now… still well written but the sadness of Sayuri’s life hits a bit harder now.

  4. Betty Strohecker on February 23, 2018 at 5:10 pm

A Study in Death by Anna Lee Huber.

  5. Carla on February 23, 2018 at 5:41 pm

My Last Love Story by F. Kothari about three friends from India, one is dying and trying to have the other two get together.

Literally about to finish my comfort re-read of The Princess Bride, after that it’s onto my book club’s pick, Dubliners by James Joyce!

  7. Mary Smith on February 23, 2018 at 8:36 pm

Re-reading Kate Carlisle’s Bibliophile mysteries… on #9 now. Then have to read book club book, Radium Girls, and Rhys Bowen’s new standalone Tuscan Child.

A Long Time Gone by Karen White

This week I read Dragonmeade by Rona Raife and Wild Highland Home by Alexandra Raife. Loved them both. My TBR table contains Rhys Biden’s The Tuscan Child, and a revisit of something by Susanna Kearsley (haven’t decided which of her delicious books yet). Seriously need one of the upcoming books by you and/or Beatriz Williams and/or Karen White! I feel like an addict in need of a fix . . .
