Monday Give Away: ACCORDING TO A SOURCE

As we get ready for beach read season, here’s something fun and frothy for your beach bag: Abby Stern’s According to a Source, a Hollywood insider’s novel about a gossip columnist whose life and work begin to collide.

Here’s the official blurb:

according to a sourceElla Warren loves her job working for celebrity news magazine, The Life, as an undercover reporter. Her evenings are spent using her alias to discreetly attend red carpet events, nightclubs, and Hollywood hotspots like the fabulous Chateau Marmont, where her eyes are always peeled for the next big celebrity story.

When Ella’s new Devil Wears Prada-type boss starts a not-so-friendly competition among the reporters to find an exclusive story or be fired, the stakes are higher than ever. But is being in Hollywood’s elite inner circle worth jeopardizing her friendship with budding actress Holiday Hall and her relationships with her boyfriend and her family? As the competition grows fiercer, her life becomes intertwined in a public scandal that may cost her everything.

A juicy, big-hearted novel about a young woman who loses herself in a fast-paced, glamorous world where finding your authentic self isn’t easy.

According to a Source appears in stores on May 23.

For a chance to win my advance copy of According to a Source here’s your question: what book are you most looking forward to reading this summer?

The winner will be announced on Wednesday.

And just a quick reminder: voting is still open on the 2017 Pinkorama! If you haven’t yet, pop over to marvel at all that sugary talent and pick your favorite. Two people who vote on the Pinkorama will be chosen at random to receive a copy of The Forgotten Room. Voting closes on Tuesday and all winners will be announced on Wednesday.

It isn’t newly released, but I’m going to read Go Set a Watchman soon. I’ve been wanting to read it since it was released but I just haven’t had the chance to yet! Harper Lee has been one of my favorites since reading To Kill a Mockingbird when I was young.

I can’t wait to start “A Court of Wings & Ruin” by Sarah J. Maas. It’s the 3rd installment of her New Adult series inspired by fairy tales & myths, and it just sucks you into its world. After that, I hope to dive into “The Night the Lights Went Out” by Karen White or “The Bear and the Nightingale” by Katherine Arden.

I’m looking forward to reading Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. It will probably take the entire summer, but I can’t wait to sit on my sun porch with a glass of wine and a good book after my children go to bed.

I am looking forward to reading Spring Will Come, book #3 of the Bregdan chronicles. It is an historical fiction series on the Civil War. The first two books were very emotional and very interesting reads.

Cocoa Beach by Beatriz Williams, The Guests on South Battery by Karen White, and after I finish with the lovely W ladies, I’ll move over to Sue Grafton and check in on the penultimate Kinsey Milhone–Y is for Yesterday. (And what will Z be?)

Probably going to jump into Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series this summer (I did Game of Thrones last summer, so why not continue with the summer-of-epic-fantasy theme)? Though, as with GofT last year, I will likely need to sprinkle some light & fun reads into my summer mix, and According to a Source seems like a perfect candidate 🙂
