Monday Give Away: MISCHIEF OF THE MISTLETOE!
Happy December! In honor of the season, today’s give away will be… a signed copy of The Mischief of the Mistletoe!
Here’s the official blurb:
Arabella Dempsey’s dear friend Jane Austen warned her against teaching. But Miss Climpson’s Select Seminary for Young Ladies seems the perfect place for Arabella to claim her independence while keeping an eye on her younger sisters nearby. Just before Christmas, she accepts a position at the quiet girls’ school in Bath, expecting to face nothing more exciting than conducting the annual Christmas recital. She hardly imagines coming face to face with French aristocrats and international spies…
Reginald “Turnip” Fitzhugh—often mistaken for the elusive spy known as the Pink Carnation—has blundered into danger before. But when he blunders into Miss Arabella Dempsey, it never occurs to him that she might be trouble. When Turnip and Arabella stumble upon a beautifully wrapped Christmas pudding with a cryptic message written in French, “Meet me at Farley Castle”, the unlikely vehicle for intrigue launches the pair on a Yuletide adventure that ranges from the Austens’ modest drawing room to the awe-inspiring estate of the Dukes of Dovedale, where the Dowager Duchess is hosting the most anticipated event of the year: an elaborate 12-day Christmas celebration. Will they find poinsettias or peril, dancing or danger? And is it possible that the fate of the British Empire rests in Arabella and Turnip’s hands, in the form of a festive Christmas pudding?
For a chance to win a copy of The Mischief of the Mistletoe, here’s your question: what’s your favorite holiday read?
The winner will be announced on Wednesday.
Grace Burrowes Lady Sophie’s Christmas Wish
I loved the book Let It Snow!
The night before Xmas, with my daughter 🙂
Little Women!
Anne of Green Gables
I like Winter Solstice
The Mischief of the Mistletoe is the only Christmas related book I recall reading. I know, sad that I have not read Little Women but it’s on my to read list.
Oddly, I usually read (if not in its entirety, at least large chunks) To Have and To Hold (alternate title: By Order of the Company) by Mary Johnston. It’s not a Christmas (or any holiday) book at all, but I first read it in December, and it’s always stuck with me as my “holiday time” go-to read. My copy was a re-publish from 1919 (I think it originally came out turn of the 20th century), and on the fly leaf is penciled in “To Mabel, Merry Christmas,” so perhaps that counts 🙂
The Mischief of the Mistletoe, of course. (Really!)
Nina Coombs'”Athena’s Christmas Tail” and Victoria Alexander’s “Shakespeare and the Three Kings” from the Christmas anthology “Santa Paws (It’s a Dog’s Life)”.
The first four Pink Carnation books are my favorites.
I once heard Sir Christopher Lee say that he read The Lord of the Rings at Christmas time every year. I was so deeply impacted by the film trilogy that I challenged myself to try doing the same in high school; now I follow in his footsteps and read the books every Christmas season. I also watch the Extended Editions of the films after finishing the books.
Little Women is always a great holiday read.
I love reading The Polar Express each holiday with my kiddos.
The Fat Man, a tale of North Pole noir, by Ken Harmon. I don’t reread a lot of things, but this is a favorite
I’ve gotten in the habit of reading “Skipping Christmas”. It’s funny, and reminds me of what’s important about the Christmas season.
The Last Chance Christmas Ball by Mary Jo Putney, Jo Beverley, et al. The authors produced these brilliant holiday reads.
To be completely honest, it’s Mischief of the Misletoe! I loved Turnip’s story!
My favorite holiday read IS Mischief of the Mistletoe! My sister is the one that introduced it to me so it has a special place in my heart.
The Mischief of the Mistletoe is one of my top favorites as well as Christmas Carol (a time travel romance I’ve read every year since I was a teen).
My favorite is Miracle on 5th Avenue by Sarah Morgan. Thanks for this generous chance.
Stranger in the Woods with my grandson.
When I was young, my favorite holiday read was my dad reading — performing! — *A Christmas Carol* aloud for us each Christmas eve, with wonderful drama and character voices. Now my favorite is *The Mischief of the Mistletoe* (which I’m currently rereading for the ?th time.)
I have always loved The Littlest Angel.
“Mischief” and the book version of A Charlie Brown Christmas
I love little women for a holiday read. Truthfully any book!

A royal Christmas by Shana Galen
Every Christmas Eve my mom would read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to me and my siblings before we went to bed. I still love it.
Honestly I love reading this book around Christmas! It’s one of my absolute favorites in the series and I usually find myself reading it again at Christmas time!
I love reading Blankets by Craig Thompson!
In all honesty, my favorite Christmas read is The Mischief of the Mistletoe. I’ve read it every winter since it was first released. And for the past several years, it is accompanied by A Very Turnip Wedding Night. I just can’t help myself.
I like both The Mischief of the Mistletoe and “The Gift of the Magi”
Since I love your books, Mischief of the Mistletoe is a favorite Christmas read for me (honestly). My youngest daughter loved a children’s story, Small Pine, that I had to read to her numerous times for years so that is a special story for me of course. And I loved reading A Stanger in the Woods with my oldest daughter. It is a real treat to have the time to read a good book.
Craig Johnson’s Spirit of Steamboat, particularly the audio version as read by George Guidall.
My favorite holiday read is the classic Christmas Car and of course, Twas the Night Before Christmas. I also try to read Jane Eyre or Wurthering Heights this time of year. ?
Mischief of the Mistletoe of course. Turnip is one of my favorite heroes of all time!
