A Decade of Pink!
This February marks ten years since the first Pink Carnation book, The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, came into the world.
How did that happen?!?!
That seems to call for some sort of celebration, doesn’t it? I hearby officially declare February Pink anniversary month here on the website. I’ll have some of the Pink Carnation comics that Joanne Renaud drew for the fifth anniversary of Pink up for grabs, and, of course, books, books, books. There are a shocking number of Pink books in my closet, in any number of editions and languages, and it only seems right that some of them find a way from my closet to yours.
What else would you like to see here on the site for Pink Carnation Anniversary Month?

Ten years? That is amazing! Congratulations! I will miss the Pink series, but I have been enjoying your stand alones. So, any thoughts on starting a new historical series?
Hi, Pat! A few months ago, I would have said “yes!” to the new historical series question. I’d planned to write a spin-off mystery series about Lord and Lady Uppington in their youth in the 1770s. But I’ve been discovering, sadly, that I can’t quite handle two books a year plus small person. I’m already under contract for the stand alone novels, so any new series would have to be that second book a year. So as soon as this last Pink book is done, I’ll be going back to one book a year (possibly one and a half books a year) until everyone in my household sleeps through the night. It’s hard to put off the Lord and Lady Uppington series (I’ve been wanting to write that since roughly 2007), but I’m having too much trouble meeting my deadlines to honorably commit to another series right now.
Well, if it gives you hope, my son started sleeping through the night when he was just a few weeks old. Of course, that is the last time he did something right without prompting! Bless his heart, he’s 37 now.
Ten years and twelve pink books, huzzah!
