Pink For All Seasons
August 20th, 2014

finalpinkAs you may know, the final book in the Pink Carnation series, The Lure of the Moonflower, is slated to hit the shelves next August, 2015.

In honor of the impending end of the series, the lovely Ashley of The Bubblebath Reader is holding a year long Pink Extravaganza on her blog. Eleven months… eleven books. Each month will feature a different book in the Pink series, along with prizes, give aways, and other fun stuff.

To quote Ashley: “We’ll talk about read-alikes, characters, history, popular conventions, deleted scenes, casting in our “if-only” movie adaptation scenarios, and plenty more.”

All I can say is… I’m in!

Here’s the official post from Ashley’s blog.

Would you like to be one of Ashley’s guest bloggers? Right now, the books which are spoken for are:

The Secret History of the Pink Carnation
The Masque of the Black Tulip
The Deception of the Emerald Ring
The Mischief of the Mistletoe
The Orchid Affair

Is your favorite book The Seduction of the Crimson Rose, The Temptation of the Night Jasmine, The Betrayal of the Blood Lily, The Garden Intrigue, Purple Plumeria or Midnight Manzanilla? Would you like to help lead the discussion for that book?

If so, just let Ashley know at

The fun kicks off in September with Pink I, The Secret History of the Pink Carnation.

As Ashley puts it in her post: “To sum up: One year of Pink reading. One book per month. Guest bloggers to guide us through. Prizes. General frivolity. This is going to be an amazing year.”

The series has happened so gradually, over time, that I don’t think it really hit me just how many books there were– until I had to type all of the titles out just now.

Note to self: for next series, consider shorter titles.

Which is your favorite Pink book?

My favorite Pink book is The Passion of the Purple Plumeria, followed closely by The Garden Intrigue and The Mischief of the Mistletoe.

  2. Betty S. says:

Love all of the books, but would have to list Pink 1, Deception of the Emerald Ring, Seduction of the Crimson Rose, Temptation of the Night Jasmine,The Betrayal of the Blood Lily, and Garden Intrigue as my favorites.

Maybe I should just say “all” again!

  3. Pat D says:

I can’t pick a favorite. It will be fun to reread all these stories.

  4. Miss Eliza says:

Can not pick a favorite, but I know which one I picked for Ashley’s event 😉

  5. Alice says:

Favorites are Crimson Rose and Black Tulip! Garden Intrigue a close second though.

  6. Sheila says:

I love them all, but I think The Mischief of the Mistletoe is my favorite, because I think you wrote it in response to all our pleading for a Turnip book. And then it won a prize! Good karma there.

    Do YOU have a favorite?

Was going to read one a month for when book #11 came out, but then found out about book 12, so this is perfect timing!
They are all wonderful! The first three are particular favorites, but then I adore Charlotte and Whittlesby… For all of the books I smiled for days after reading them.

  8. Jane Burke says:

My absolute favorite is The Mischief of the Mistletoe. It made me laugh out loud and I indulge myself with re-reading it at Christmastime as a present to myself. Of course my next favorite would be The Secret of the Pink Carnation, which made me fall in love with the series in the first place.

  9. Sarah R says:

My favorite is The Temptation of the Night Jasmine. Loved Charlotte’s story!

  10. Jennifer says:

Mischief of the Mistletoe is my favorite!

  11. SuzanneH says:

I loved all of them. But if I absolutely had to name my favourites they would be The Deception Of The Emerald Ring, The Temptation Of The Night Jasmine, The Passion Of The Purple Plumeria and The Mark Of The Midnight Manzanilla. But then maybe I should include The Mask Of The Black Tulip and The Mischief Of The Mistletoe too? Oh, this is just too hard, they are all so terrific!!

  12. Liz says:

Happy to have an excuse to re-read them all! My favorite has always been The Deception of the Emerald Ring–love Geoff and Letty’s characters (and have always been a sucker for a forced marriage turns to love storyline.) It was a treat to see them again in The Mischief of the Mistletoe.

I love them all for Eloise and Colin, but my favorite is The Orchid Affair. Love the governess falling for her employer trope and it was such a good story.

  14. […] once again for the awesome banner design for Pink for All Seasons.  And a huge thank you to Lauren, of course, whose books are the reason the Pink challenge exists, and whose humor and grace always […]

  15. DJ LaHaie says:

I loved the Passion of the Purple Plumeria (Miss Gwen is da bomb), and it yields place only to The Seduction of the Crimson Rose, which edges it out by having introduced me to the Pink Series in the first place!

  16. Angie says:

I LOVE them all, but the first three hold the place for favorites. However, The Mischief of the Mistletoe wormed its way onto the favorites’ shelf, recently joined by The Mark of the Midnight Manzanilla! I do love the Fitzhugh siblings! :)
