Yesterday’s walk down Mistletoe memory lane got me thinking about another Fitzhugh who needs a story.
That’s right: Turnip’s little sister Sally. Because we all know, if Turnip has a story, Sally wants one, too. Preferably gold-plated, enameled, and decorated with a cunning little pattern of seed pearls. And, yes, she’ll take the matching earrings and bracelet as well.
I can’t promise anything, as my plans do tend to change around on me (here a disclaimer, there a disclaimer, everywhere a disclaimer, disclaimer), but, if all goes to plan, you may just see Pride & Poinsettia: A Very Sally Novella in time for the holidays….

Perhaps like her older brother, Sally’s story will be filled with too much to be a novella – bring on the printed copy!
And how lovely that their particular family does the Christmas themed stories. Like Turnip, like…hmm, Sally is very sassy so…sassafras? I know that’s a tree and not of the vegetable family, but you CAN make tea for colds from Sassafras!

Hi, Celine! It’s definitely not going to be a book book. The publishing process is a very lengthy one, so anything you see on the shelf was generally begun at least eighteen months before, and given to my publisher in finished form anywhere from nine months to a year before it makes it on to the shelf.
But with all these new e-forms, including the website, if I have time to write something short for Sally in November/December, I can post it here or on Kindle almost instantly!

Although I am surprised that she is willing to settle for anything short of a full novel with Eloise and Colin chapters (as Turnip had a full novel only sans Eloise and Colin).

I look forward to it. I have been listening to The Mischief of the Mistletoe again on audible while sewing and love the antics of Sally, Agnes and Lizzie. And I’m curious if Lavinia ends up at the school. The deleted scene of her was so good I’d love to see more of her as well. It would be great to catch up with everyone again next Christmas.
