Jane Austen Short Story Contest
All the entries are in… now it’s time to vote! Which short story will make it into the Jane Austen Made Me Do It anthology? It’s up to you to decide.
You can find all the entries at the Republic of Pemberley (including a few by members of the Pink community!). Just follow the rules and vote for your top three.

Which of the entries do you like best?
“The Love Letter” (#56), which described how reading Captain Wentworth’s letter to Anne Elliot encouraged a modern-day hero to give his long-lost love a second change, was one of my favorites.
I found it very interesting to see which of Austen’s minor characters became protagonists in their own right. I particularly enjoyed reading about Caroline Bingley, Sophy Croft, Lucy Steele, and Margaret Dashwood (in What Would Eliza Do?, Sophy and the Armada, Carpe Diem, and The Marrying of Margaret, respectively).
The contest was so much fun, and I enjoyed writing for it and reading all the wonderful entries.

There were so many wonderful, entertaining stories entered in the contest. I think all of the entrants did Jane Austen proud. There are a lot of talented, clever writers out there! I encourage everyone to go and read all of the submissions. I think there’s something for everyone.

There are tons of good ones. I encourage you to ignore all of them and vote for #39, Helen for a Dignified Highbury. My kids are driving me batty this week and I need a pick-me-up!

Thanks for posting about this contest weeks ago.
It was just what I needed – having had writer’s block with another story I was working on at the time.
I wrote entry 09 Prides & Prejudices.
Which I voted for.
Of course.
But I also voted for Tracie’s The Marrying of Margaret!
I was so entertained by her story.
And so glad Margaret got her own story.
The sort of story, you must have more of!
