Win a Pink Carnation Comic!
In honor of the mass market debut of The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, Joanne Renaud and I have put together a special limited edition of Pink Carnation comics.
There are three scenes: one featuring Eloise and Colin, two featuring my favorite bits from the historical section of the book. We’ve made a grand total of twenty-five copies of each comic, all signed by both the illustrator and the author.
To win a limited edition Pink Carnation print (of the Eloise and Colin scene), here’s today’s question:

I am currently reading, The Deception of the Emerald Ring. But I never read just one book at a time, I am also reading, The Birds and Other Stories by Daphne Du Maurier as well as North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. This is totally an amazing prize! Happy Pink Birthday!!!

Because You’re Mine by Lisa Kleypas. Yesterday I finished Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball by Donita K. Paul. It was ok. I like her DragonKeeper series better.
I am currently listening to The Temptation of the Night Jasmine and, as a librarian, I have been recommending this series to a lot of my patrons. We all love this series and it is also great to listen to these novels on audiobooks.
For class I am reading The Hidden Hand by E.D.E.N. Southward and for pleasure I’m rereading The Game by Laurie R. King.

Currently I’m re-reading The Betrayal of the Blood Lily (the only one of the series I haven’t read more than once), but then I’ll probably back track to one that takes place more in England to get ready for Turnip’s book!
I’m also listening to Mansfield Park on my iPod because reading on the bus and T makes me nauseous.
I’m about to read “Mockingjay”, the third book in the Hunger Games series. I’ve been waiting for a month to get this book from the library and I can’t wait to tear into it!

I’m reading The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. Tis the season for creepy books!! When I finish it, which should be soon since it’s so good, I’ll be reading The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe, recommended by Jane Austen via Catherine Morland 🙂 It will probably take me up until the time The Orchid Affair comes out to finish that two volume, small print work haha
Currently it’s Over My Dead Body by Rex Stout (a Nero Wolfe mystery). And I would love to somehow see Archie Goodwin transported back in time into one of the Pink books. Imagine him sparring with Miss Gwen! Wonderful contest idea, Lauren!

I just finished “The Walking Dead Vol. 3: Safety Behind Bars” by Robert Kirkman, in preparation of new AMC series based on the series. And am currently reading “Mirror, Mirror” by Gregory Maguire.
I am currently reading two books: The Darkest Kiss by Gena Showalter (I’ve been abducted by paranormal romance) and Someone to Watch Over Me by Lisa Kleypas… love me some romance…
I’m currently reading “The Red Queen” by Philippa Gregory. I’d recommend it so far along with it’s counter-story “The White Queen” that I’ve already read.
I’m happily splitting my time between Bill Bryson’s “A Short History of Nearly Everything,” Helen Fielding’s “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” and Steven Pinker’s “The Stuff of Thought.” 🙂
I am reading Liz Carlyle’s first book in her new series, “One Touch of Scandal,” plus assorted other books and mags I pick up for variety! I recommended the “Blood Lily” to a friend with an interest in the colonial history of India and now she is a little hooked on the Colin/Eloise storyline. Her birthday is next week so I will get her a copy of “Pink Carnation” in mass market to get her started! Thanks, Lauren.
I’m reading the Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I just finished watching the tv adaptation.
Well, I finished the entire Pink books that are already out ages ago. So I’m currently waiting for October 28th for the Misltoe Pink book. But in between that time I already finished re-reading the first Pink Carnation book and the second and the third, fourth, fifth and sixth.
At the current moment I’m just finishing up Sanditon by Jane Austen.
I’m re-reading Night Jasmine to get ready for Turnip’s book, and listening to the audio book of the Golden Compass.

I’m currently reading Ken Follett’s novel Fall of Giants. This us a historical epic that traces the fortunes of five interrelated families—one American, one English, one Welsh, one Russian, and one German that is filled with extraordinary events of World War I, the Russian Revolution, and the women’s suffrage movement.
Since I love historical romance (which he won’t read) I end up reading one of his “Top Picks” (he finished this one in two days and loved it). When I read historical romance I can never put them down where this is one book that even though it is a great read is going to take me a while to finish!

Right now, I am reading ‘Another Roadside Attraction’ by Tom Robbins. Great subway reading on the way to work. A Very witty, intelligent and insightful work of literature.

I am re-reading Kate Remembered by Scott A. Berg. It’s the only authorized biography of my favorite actress Katherine Hepburn. It’s witty and engaging and thoroughly biased (as the author freely admits). A wonderful read whether you enjoy non-fiction or not!

Since I have read ALL of your books I am now forced to read such things as “Anna Karenina” (total downer), “Freakonomics” (very interesting), and “It’s Called a Break-Up Because It’s Broken” (Boys!…) all this just to keep me busy ’til Mistletoe comes out and then the next installment released in January. What is a girl to do?? I need more Eloise and Collin!
BFF Amy came up with the great idea that Adrien Brody should play Vaughn… should you ever make him into a movie (ahem….) grayed hair and lines added, he’d be great!! We’re stuck on who should portray Eloise & Collin though. But we seriously want to them to hook-up, Permanently!! (lol)

Reading “Royal Blood” by Rhys Bowen. It’s the fourth in her Royal Spyness Mystery series. Has romance, mystery, and even perhaps, vampires! Also, “The Bedside, Bathtub, and Armchair Companion to Jane Austen” by Adams, buchanan, and Gesch. Lots of fun facts, insights into the novels and great “test your knowledge” quizzes!
Reading “A Novel Bookstore” by Laurence Cosse. It’s filled with literary references and suspense, and makes my inner nerd very, very happy.
