Pink Carnation: At the Tuileries

Much as I love the Eloise and Colin scene, it’s Joanne’s historical drawings that are really the piece de resistance. Without further ado… the Tuileries scene!

The final Pink comic scene will be posted on Monday. On Tuesday, in celebration of the publication day of The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, check back for a chance to win signed, numbered copies of the Pink Comic prints.

If you like the Pink Carnation comics, please feel free to post them, link to them, and so forth! While Joanne and I are jealously guarding our physical copies (give-away on Tuesday!), we’d be delighted for the electronic images to be shared as widely as possible.

Richard was too hot and Amy was too Amy! I loved it! And when I saw Napoleon, I said “Wow, he actually looks kind of hot.” !!! Miss Gwen was awesome and the women from the tuilerie really did wear such skimpy gowns! O-M-G!!By the way, wasn’t Jane’s hair supposed to be light brown and not blonde? It’d look better brown, just saying.

Aren’t the dresses AMAZING? I love the way Joanne captured the distinction between French and English fashion.

You’re totally right on Jane’s hair, but for the comic it was easier, for contrast, to have the light brown come out blonder. Likewise, my own image of Miss Gwen is younger and starker (basically Mrs. Bale from “As Time Goes By”) but for picture purposes, she worked better this way.

posted on my blog, thank you for allowing us to do so. I think some of my friends that would never read the books (guys who think there too foofy) might enjoy reading them, even if they wont admit it. 😉
