Favorite Pink Lines?

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

The Pink for Pink store launches tomorrow! (It’s even up on the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s calendar as an official event!)

Given my technological deficiencies, this is definitely going to be an ongoing project. As I strive to put my best T-shirt forward for tomorrow, I turn to you for advice: which Pink line would you most like to see on a mug/T-shirt/water bottle, etc.?

Any other ideas and suggestions also welcome!

Interview and Give-Away

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

There’s an interview and a give-away at Over the Edge Book Reviews. Between now and October 3rd, Over the Edge will be giving away two copies of the snazzy new mass market edition of The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. Stop by for your chance to win!

Pink Carnation: At the Tuileries

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Much as I love the Eloise and Colin scene, it’s Joanne’s historical drawings that are really the piece de resistance. Without further ado… the Tuileries scene!

The final Pink comic scene will be posted on Monday. On Tuesday, in celebration of the publication day of The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, check back for a chance to win signed, numbered copies of the Pink Comic prints.

If you like the Pink Carnation comics, please feel free to post them, link to them, and so forth! While Joanne and I are jealously guarding our physical copies (give-away on Tuesday!), we’d be delighted for the electronic images to be shared as widely as possible.

Pink Carnation: the Comic!

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

With only one week to go until Pink mass market (eek!), here’s Big Surprise #2. I’ve been having the hardest time staying quiet about this one for the past few months!

In honor of the re-release of The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, I’ve teamed up with illustrator extraordinaire, Joanne Renaud, to render a few of the Purple Gentian’s adventures from prose to picture.

There are three scenes in all: one featuring Eloise (above) and two starring Richard and Amy, including a truly spectacular visual of the scene at the Tuileries Palace where Miss Gwen tells off Bonaparte. (You can click on the images to see a larger version.)

Stay tuned for the next two Pink Carnation Comics, coming up soon!

The Pink Carnation Comics are being printed in a limited signed and numbered edition. Check back for a chance to win a copy!

Pink for Pink

Monday, September 27th, 2010

I did mention that I had some surprises to unveil this week, right? Here’s Surprise #1:

The Pink for Pink Store!

Coming soon to a Cafe Press near you, we’ll have Pink mugs, totes, coffee carriers, T-shirts, and whatever else they let me play with.

A large impetus behind this is the sheer fun of getting to play with Pink designs. (I’m thinking Miss Gwen quotes on coffee mugs, here….) But there is an ulterior motive. All proceeds from the Pink shop (10% of the purchase price) will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Pink shop is still under construction but I’m hoping to get it up and running by Friday, October 1, in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so we can all shop Pink for Pink!

The Official Pink T-Shirt

Monday, September 27th, 2010

A million thanks to everyone for your wonderful and creative designs! I’ve already ordered a number of them for my personal use. (Can I just say that I LOVED the “I heart men in knee breeches” shirt?).

The votes have been tallied and we have a clear winner. The official Pink Carnation T-Shirt is…

Congrats, Amanda!

In second place, we had #3, by Anwen:

And in third place, #14, by Kelly:

Congrats, ladies! If you email me with your snail mail addresses, I’ll send you your prizes (allowing some extra time for T-shirt conveyance).

If anyone would like to buy any of the T-shirts, I’ve linked them to their Cafe Press sites. Which brings me to my first big announcement of the week….

A T-Shirt for Turnip

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

Because Laurel asked me to make a shirt for Turnip….

(The text says “What Englishman, one may ask, would answer to the name of TURNIP?”)

Voting is still open on the Pink T-Shirt contest! Click here to vote for your favorites.

999 Pink Fans

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

No, it’s nothing to do with red balloons, floating in the summer sky. (Although that was only 99, right?) I have 999 fans on Facebook. If you haven’t already joined the page, come on over and become #1000!

The Pink Top Ten– Extended!

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

I know, I know, I said that the Pink Top Ten List Challenge was closing on Sunday night, along with the T-shirt contest. But since the mini-contest was overshadowed by the Mini-Contest (and a couple of people emailed me to tell me they hadn’t seen it in time), I’m leaving up the Pink Top Ten List Mini-Contest for a few days more.

The Top Ten List contest will close on Sunday night, at the same time as the T-Shirt voting. One participant will be chosen at random to receive a snazzy new copy of mass market Pink Carnation, hot off the presses!

Now on the Runway… Pink T-Shirts!

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

At last, the long-awaited fashion event of the Season: the Pink T-Shirt Competition! Below, you can find a number of elegant entries for the title of Official Pink Carnation T-Shirt.

The rules are simple: just vote for your top three (i.e. 1. #62, 2. #105, 3. #2), with your favorite first and so on. Voting will close on Sunday, September 26th.

A few more details: a couple of gorgeous shirts were sent to me as bitmap images. Since my program wouldn’t post those as pictures, you can find them as links. If you have trouble clicking on the link, let me know!

Over the next few days, I’ll be linking these shirts to their homes at Cafe Press or Zazzle or wherever, so, if a shirt calls to you, you can click on the link and buy it for yourself. (You can also post in the comments section, asking whoever made it where you can find it.)

And now, without further ado, the Pink T-Shirt Collection!
