Saturday’s Cover Girl

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Just one day to go until the Cover Contest closes! With so many entries (over fifty at last count), I will, for once, be closing the contest when I said I would, at midnight on Sunday. So get your entries in now!

In the meantime, here’s a bright and floral cover for Saturday:

Friday’s Cover

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Don’t you get the feeling that this is a woman with weighty things on her mind?

Just as a reminder, the Cover Contest officially closes Sunday at midnight, so if you have any last minute inspirations, now’s the time to get out the photoshop….

A pretty and pastoral cover for Thursday….

Orlando Signing Tonight!

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Hi, all! For those of you in the area, I’ll be signing books in the Pacific Exhibit Hall of the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort today, starting at 5:30. The signing runs until 7:30 and features roughly five hundred authors, including Julia Quinn, Eloise James, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

You can find the full list and all the details here. See you this evening!

And now for something slightly different….

An audio cover for Wednesday!

This has the unique distinction of being the only submission for the Orchid Affair cover contest designed explicitly with the audio version in mind.

A Cover for Tuesday

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

It seemed appropriate to kick off RWA, from which I always lug home way too many books, with an image featuring a lady reading.

In The Orchid Affair, many of Laura Grey’s clandestine activities are conducted by means of a bookshop. Who, after all, would think anything of a governess purchasing books for her charges?

Monday’s Cover

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Because Mondays are always tough, here’s a bright and cheerful cover to kick off the week.

Doesn’t it just beg for a caption? I’d love to know what he’s saying and what she’s thinking.

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

This coming week, thousands of romance readers and writers will descend upon the Magic Kingdom. In the midst of talks, panels, and, yes, the Teacups (who doesn’t love the Teacups?), we’ll be having a huge booksigning to benefit ProLiteracy Worldwide. You can find a list of all the participating authors here.

If you’re in the Orlando area, swing on over to the Pacific Exhibit Hall of the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort this Wednesday, July 28th, at anytime between 5:30 and 7:30. I’ll be there!

See you in Orlando!

An ORCHID for Saturday

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

The cover contest bounty continues! We have nearly fifty entries, each as lovely as the last. I’ll be displaying them all on August 2nd, once the contest officially closes, but, in the meantime, here’s our cover of the day.

Light and floral, this seemed particularly appropriate for a sunny Saturday.

Friday’s Cover(s)

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Back to the slightly more traditional….

Another prescient cover! One of the pivotal scenes in the book involves an artist’s studio, a crimson velvet throw and Laura letting her hair down.

Since it’s Friday, let’s make it a double feature, shall we?

It’s gray and rainy today where I am– rather like Laura’s Paris, where the cold rain drips incessantly down the stone walls of the old hotels particuliers. I thought this made an appropriately atmospheric cover for a rainy Friday.
