A Starred Review for BLOOD LILY

The audio version of The Betrayal of the Blood Lily received a starred review in Booklist!

Booklist reviewer Joyce Sarick had nice things to say about both the book and the audio. Calling the characters “vividly imagined” and the plot “action-filled”, Sarick writes, “Reading’s animated, British-accented narration highlights the witty dialogue underlying the humor, sensual undertones, and fast-paced adventure of this delightful romp.” Her conclusion? “Willig’s fans will welcome the detour to India, and newcomers will have no trouble entering the series.”

Huzzah! A great big brava to Kate Reading for her brilliant narration and many thanks to Booklist.

  3. Lovelovelove Kate’s readings of the books. That woman who did Jasmine…not so much. She kept pronouncing Eloise as Elo-waz. Huh?? She finally got it right 2/3rds or so of the through.
Confession. I’ve not read a single Willig book. But I liked the audio versions so much I bought the hardbacks. Which I intend to read numerous times.

  4. EEEK! Anna sounds just like me!

Can we get the publishers of the audiobooks to re-record “Jasmine”, with Kate Reading this time? Then they would ALL be COMPLETELY PERFECT audiobooks. (Elo-waz, or maybe El-woz?, made me cringe each time.) Also, the “Jasmine” reader made Hen sound like a modern British upper-class snob, and I thought “but that’s not Hen!?!?!”. (tragic … really, really tragic … sniff …)
