All those lonely hearts have placed their ads… but which one would you answer?
Last week, our contestants placed personal ads for various Pink Carnation characters, ranging from everyone’s favorite delusional butler to the dowager@dovedale.net. (You can find the entries here and here.) Your mission? To list your three favorites, in order of preference.
The judging will close at midnight Sunday. Winners will be announced on Monday.
In addition to the prizes for the winner and two runners-up, one judge will be chosen at random to receive a signed Pink book of her choice.

My votes, in order of preference:
32. “Older woman seeks much younger man for masque balls…”
12. “Feisty spinster is in search of a minion to aid in thwarting the French…” (Can I just add that I love that the author used no shorthand–not “spinster in search of minion to aid in thwarting French,” for ex.–as Miss Gwen would not tolerate anything less than a complete sentence with verbs, articles, prepositions, etc.)
2. “Distinguished bachelor seeks witty companion…”
I tried to write my own but the muses were not with me. As we say, those who cannot do judge those who can.

OMG, everything was all so funny!! A darn shame I didn’t join in. Oh well, maybe next time.
I frippin’ loved #5. The whole “Dastardly French spy seeks competent adversary. Current adversaries fall in love, get married, and retire at alarming rates.” thing is so hilarious! I would be alarmed and annoyed if I were the Black Tulip and that was happening to me too.
I definitely like #27. It had a nice touch to it. Almack’s really would seem droll after a while if one had every eligible bachelor tripping over themselves to fawn over one’s self.
#26 totally has me too. Turnip is so cute in his Turnipish ways. Hmm, why a turnip? Now that’s a question.

3.Distinguished bachelor seeks witty companion for the exchanging of quadruple innuendos. Deceased wives need not bother.
26.Unfortunately-nicknamed chap seeks handsome lady with an appreciation for fashion of a horticultural nature. Love of root vegetables is a must. (Author’s note: I say! What sort of havey-cavey business is this personal ad idea, anyway?)
then 1. Energetic older lady seeks a man not afraid of explosions, mummies, or trashy novels; must be able to dodge umbrellas

my vote and several others were on the tag end of the “mini contest” will they count?

Yes please, count the others (and not cause it means I get another vote, I’d never be that shallow
)
