Hi, all!
I was just beginning to pack for the holidays and realized I’d run through most of my traditional seasonally themed reads already.
I tend to read them in subcategories. I have British chick lit Christmas books (Kate Saunder’s “The Marrying Game”, Liz Young’s “Fair Game”, Harriet Evans’ “Going Home”), mysteries (Barbara Michaels’ “Stitches in Time”, Kasey Michaels’ “High Heels and Holidays”), historical romance (Judith McNaught’s story in “A Holiday of Love”, Jo Beverly’s “Winter Fire”, Elsie Lee’s “Silence is Golden”), contemporaries (Debbie Macomber’s “Angel” books, McNaught’s “Paradise” and “Perfect”), and so on.
Any recommendations for other good holiday reads? What are your seasonal favorites?

My favorites are The Present by Johanna Lindsey, it’s a holiday themed Malory Novel. Agatha Christie’s Holiday for Murder, Peters, Ellis’ A Rare Benedictine and always, The Gift of the magi by O. Henry.

One of my new favorites that I read this year is called The Christmas List by Richard Paul Evans. I really liked this modern and contemporary book. ^_^

I always love re-reading The Dark Is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper. Arthurian legends in oft-snowy, twentieth century Britain scream “Christmas holidays!” to me. For another Susan, Susan Hill’s The Woman in Black is another traditional winter holiday read for me. There’s nothing like curling up by the fire with a good book!

At first, I didn’t really think I had a certain holiday read for every year, but then I realized that, duh, I did, haha. I always seem to re-read the Harry Potter books. Not necessarily all 7, but some. I read the 4th book last week and began the 5th a couple days ago. Harry Potter just screams Christmas season to me

I usually re-read Kleypas’ Wallflower Christmas. I find it nice and light for the holidays, as well as easy to go in and out of as the hustle and bustle allows. …. Also – I like the Wallflowers.

In recent years, I’ve found myself going back to Rosamunde Pilcher’s Winter Solstice this time of year. It’s contemporary, set in Scotland during the holiday season. Five people, who are loosely connected, come together in one house for Christmas. That’s it, but it’s such a cozy little world she creates, and everything is so wonderfully described. Based on your own list, Lauren, I’m about to try Winter Fire, sometime soon!

I haven’t any Christmas reads, per se. I am, however, re-listening to the Deception of the Emerald Ring I adore Kate Reading’s readings, especially of this series.
