Ann Arbor!

I’m back from an amazing two day trip to Ann Arbor, during which I:

–got to talk books with the Borders folks (so many more things to read now! if only I could remember them all…);

– attended a dinner where I was presented with no fewer than three deep fried foods on one plate (and that was just the appetizer);

– met the only other person in the world to have watched that Cartland classic, A Hazard of Hearts, and nearly died with envy on discovering that she had once received a handwritten letter from Anthony Andrews. Yes, that Anthony Andrews. So jealous. Have a I mentioned so jealous?

– spent some time (too little time!) with super-fabulous historians/Pink fans from the University of Michigan history department;

– got to hang out with my favorite college roommate (The Betrayal of the Blood Lily is dedicated to her, so that counts as work-related, right?);

– drank no fewer than eight large lattes with whipped cream in a thirty six hour time frame;

– and visited my books at the Borders flagship store in Ann Arbor.

I am a tired but happy author. Thank you, Borders!

  1. Agh! My cousin manages a fabulous restaurant in Ann Arbor, called Paesano’s. I totally should have recommended it BEFORE you went…

    Glad you enjoyed my home state. Now come to Purdue, we have a nice Border’s attached to Panera Bread.

  2. Just watched A Hazard of Hearts on YouTube, great recommendation thanks. It has it all; duels, smuggling, abductions reformed rakes and true love, a lovely distraction from my exam study.

  4. Ha! My evil plan to spread “A Hazard of Hearts” across the globe is succeeding! Seriously, though, it’s so much fun. There are so many good lines (and by good, I mean gloriously cheesy, uttered with just the right hint of a smoulder). My favorite: “Let us remain what we are…. Two strangers, brought together by a game of chance.”

  5. I think I want to marry Lord Vulcan. Like, seriously. I just watched it and I loooove it. Much smouldering, just like you said, Lauren :)
