A new post…

… on History Hoydens, with a rather neat picture from 1803.

  1. Glad to see the research gods smiled on you today! It’s lovely when that happens.

  2. hmmm Is your new book a pink novel? I thought since the last one was in Christmas 1803, we should be 1804. I have to admit I always wanted to know why 1803? I don’t know enough about history of the time.

  3. Hi, am7! I’ll answer the easier question first. The series wound up taking place in 1803 because I needed Amy to be able to travel to France– and the period between 1802 and 1803, during the Peace of Amiens, was the one time when that would be plausible.

As for the other question… You’re totally right about the 1803/1804 thing. I’m not making any official announcements yet, since I don’t want to jinx it, but the book I’m currently working on is a slightly out of order Pink book (working title: Pink Christmas), which would take place during Christmas of 1803, at the same time as the beginning of “Night Jasmine”.

Both “Blood Lily” and Pink VII, which is also in progress right now, move properly forward to 1804.

  5. Another Christmas story! Will it add onto the Amy-Richard Christmas story, or will it focus on another couple? Hen and Miles? (I can’t get enough of them!)

  6. I love it when you stumble on that perfect piece of information you were looking for. It completely makes your week :)

    Can’t wait for “Blood Lily”!

  7. I love the idea that Pink VII is going back to cover the time passed with the Pink Carnation. Eloise has been busy reading the Henrietta’s papers on Charlotte and Penolope the past two books. She does need to get back on track with her paper. :)

I am curious to know how much of “Selwick Christmas” makes Pink VII.
