A Bonus Novella for You

I’m a little behind with my gift giving this year. Many a month ago, I had the grand idea of writing a short story about Amy and Richard’s first Christmas together and presenting it here, on the website, as a holiday gift to you, my readers. The Temptation of the Night Jasmine opens at Girdings House on Christmas Eve of 1803, so it seemed a nice sort of symmetry to pop over to Uppington Hall, the official residence of the Marquesses of Uppington, and see exactly what Richard, Amy and the rest of the gang were up to on that same cold Christmas Eve.

There was one slight problem with this plan. My short story decided it wanted to be a novella when it grew up. Who knew that Christmas of 1803 would prove to be quite that eventful? My so-called short story is currently seventy pages and still growing. And growing.

Rather than delay further, I’ve decided to steal a leaf from Dickens’ book and present the Selwick Christmas Novella as a serial. I’ll be posting a new chapter every Monday and Friday until the story is done. So pop back tomorrow for the first installment of A Very Selwick Christmas!

Hopefully this will help beguile the time until the release of Night Jasmine on January 22nd….

  3. Yay! I miss Richard and Amy! I’ve always felt like they’re the least… recurrent of the Pink characters.

I also totally love when authors write add-ons for their own books. It’s like their own fanfiction.

    Can’t wait.
